Passion 07/15/2008

Jenn and I went to a business conference over the weekend in Portland, OR. And man did it light us up!

The speakers there took all of our (yours and mine) excuses and threw them right back at our face.

The one thing that came through for me was how passionate these people were in what they do. And that is the key to your success!

If you're investing in RE, why are you doing it? Or if you are in business for yourself, why are you doing that? What is your "why"?

Of course we are in it to make money. But that alone will not motivate you to become successful. How do i know this? You can always get a job to make extra money.

Now if financial independence fires you up, then we're getting somewhere. How about not working for someone else? How about being able to take care of Mom and Dad in their retirement years?

Someone told me that you have to have a dream that is non-negotiable. Your dream is why. And the passion to achieve that dream will get you through the tough times.

That means you can't state your dream then just say, "just kidding!". Or make excuses for why you aren't hitting your goals to make your dream a reality.

You might think this is fru-fru kind of stuff. I'm willing to guess if you think this is fru-fru you aren't where you want to be in your goals.

Even Robert Kiyosaki had a dream when he was building his wealth empire! And he had passion for that dream.

Your dream will keep you focused, and your passion will guide you though the bumps and pot holes you'll run into on your way to success.

As Ron Clark says, "Dream Big, Take Risks!"

See you on the Fast Track!

At a recent business conference I discovered a huge investment that you can make. The best part is it is available to everyone!

This investment can bring you wealth beyond your wildest dreams. This investment is huge.

Here it is: The biggest investment you can make is IN YOURSELF!!!!!

It dawned on me how much truth there is in this statement.

It's YOU that guarantees YOUR SUCCESS! No one else can do that for you! It's up to you!

You have to do your homework in what you do. People ask me all the time if those late night infomercials actually work.

I always respond, "It depends. Will you work?" The truth is all those things work because someone made it work for them!

People are looking for that magic egg to sit on like a hen, and hope it hatches riches for them.

The world of entreprenuership doesn't work like that!!! You guarantee you're own success.

You're success isn't up to me, the dude on the late night info-mercial, or anyone else for that matter. You have to make that investment in yourself to succeed no matter what. That means going to business seminars, listening to CDs, and reading books.

Yes all that stuff gets expensive (especially the business seminars), but the word investment implies a return. And the size of that return is up to you.

What price will you pay to secure you're family's future? Or even to make your dream a reality?

Make that commitment to dreams and invest in yourself and make good on that investment!

We just had another awesome Saturday playing cashflow 101 and 202!

Yet again, 202 was another butt-kicker for everyone who attempted to play.
I want to congratulate both Dave Sullivan and Rob Solis who played 202 and 101 respectively and were able to be out of the rat race in under a half hour!
What is more impressive is that these two also played with their own personal balance sheets!

The point of the exercise of playing with your own personal balance sheets is that you get your mind thinking about what you need to do personally to get out of the rat race.

It goes to show if you invest your time and your money in making good decisions you can get out of the rat race quickly.

I wanted to write this post about investing time and money because I heard something this past sunday from one of my mentors. He said that investing means that EXPECT a return later. Obviously everyone "knows" about investing your money.

Invest in this you get some percent return, blah blah blah.

What was huge was that he said by investing your time into yourself (ie your own personal growth) and your business, whatever that may be, you are investing to get a return on more time in your life to do whatever you want!

People often want the quick dollar (like those who live for the lottery). The ones who are lucky enough to get that quick dollar spend it just as fast as they got it!

The point is people don't see the value in investing their time into their personal growth. I'm here to tell you that REAL ENTREPRENEURS do!!!

If you have an opportunity to go to a seminar on personal growth or financial success (free or not) I suggest you make it a point to go! Again you're investing your time and money into your financial future!!

I love playing Cashflow with you, however you need to make the decision to go from playing the game to applying what you learn into your life!

We're coming into some interesting times with the market. If you've read books by Harry S. Dent (Roaring 2000's and Next Great Bubble Boom) he talked about a long term recession, which will be worse than the Great Depression!

Even Robert Kiyosaki talks about it in Prophecy (I've only read snippets of this book but he does mention the same things Dent does).

If you watched what happened in the market yesterday you know about Bear Sterns and how their stock fell from about 60 bucks to 2 bucks in a matter of 2 DAYS, with a buyout from JP Morgan

The real trajedy is the people who lost most of their retirement money since their stock options and 401ks were tied to that stock!

I came across this article in the San Diego Union Tribune. It's just shocking.

This is why YOU need to rise above everyone else in the rat race and build for your life not for your retirement (because it might not be there)! Working until 72 just does not sound fun to me. How about you? See you on the fast track!

Sorry I've been lagging on updating this part of the website!

The next game we're going to be having will be on April 12 at my home here in Ontario. Register here to make sure you have a seat at the game! http://learn2buildwealth.eventbrite.com

In honor of tax season, bring in your personal financial statements and play either Cashflow 101 and 202 and learn what it's going to take for you to get yourself out of the rat race!

If you know me personally, you know I get excited when I talk about business! Robert Kiyosaki has always stated the best way to secure your time and wealth is through owning a business.

I wanted to share a few stories of some people I know who just started their journey in entrepreneurship. I want to let you know if these guys can do something great, you can too!

Joey, a close friend of mine, started a web consulting business called Gorirra.com. He mainly wants to specialize in restaurants but has done websites for other things like weddings and personal sites. He started this business is because building web sites has been his "passion". You can tell he loves to get creative.

His business is in the early stages, but at least he started and that's usually the biggest hurdle when it come to people starting their own business. They just don't start! He's already worked with numerous clients and more are on the way.

I wish I could tell you he's making millions, but he's working hard to get the business to where he wants it.

I also want to tell you about my cousin Bianca, who started a tutoring business in San Diego called Ace Tutoring. She started this business not long ago also. Her passion is to help people overcome their hurdles in school. In fact, here's a real testimonial someone left on yahoo about her business!

A person you all know is my wife Jenn. With her cousin Stephanie, they started an invitation business called Inspired Invitations. They've made some of the most cost effective wedding invitations for people around San Diego. They started this business with 40 bucks and are currently using their profits to re-invest into their business! Did I mention they started it with only $40!

As you can see all it takes is a passion and you can start a business in anything! From building websites like Joey or just tutoring students like Bianca, anything is possible! You just have to get started!

Like Larry Winget says, "Your Success is your own damn fault!"

As for me, my passion is to empower people to go after their dreams through business! This is why I got involved in Network Marketing and also why I created this Cashflow club. My Networking business is doing well. We just continue to grow because of the leaders I have in my business. I can go on for days about some of the guys in my business and tell you about their passions. That'll just have to wait.

I love meeting people who are excited about where their life is going and I love helping them in anyway I can. To me there's nothing more refreshing than talking with a dreamer.

So if there is any way I can help you just let me know. If it's helping you get started or if you're just tired of hearing all the negative people around you, just let me know.

Find your passion! Now get to work!

To your succcess!

Last weekend we had an awesome discussion! I asked everyone that was there how playing the game has influenced their life and what they are doing now.

The responses I got were tremendous. I hope that everyone realizes that there are some people in the club that are going places!

Andy brought up how playing the game has changed his mindset in how he thinks about money. It's about shifting from an employee mentality to an entrepreneur mentality. You understand that your life destiny is in your hands, and not at the mercy of some corporate pension.

My good friend Rob is helping his parents manage their money as they enter retirement through his business. He says that he never would have had that opportunity if it wasn't for playing CASHFLOW where money management is key!

What's interesting is that one of the youngest members of our group (age 13), Ashley reminded all of us to "live it up"! Where I think she was coming from was to not get so caught up in your finances, but to have fun.

It's funny because some of the leaders in my Network Marketing organization are young at heart and I think about how they are able to "live it up" because of the wealth of time and money they've been able to create.

The game is is far more than just a silly board game. The people in the club who believe in what the game teaches and believe in themselves are going after goals that in my opinion are far bigger than themselves!

If you want to be around people who are going places then don't miss our next game on March 1st. As the saying goes "birds of a feather flock together." Don't be left out!

I was listening to a CD by Robert Kiyosaki and Dr. Dolf De Roos. Robert asked if Dolf can sum up what it takes to become successful. This is what he said:

"It takes courage. Courage is not acting without fear. It's acting despite your fear."

Whatever it takes!

The next CASHFLOW event is going to be held once again at Christie's home on Feb 9, 2008 at 1:30pm!
