We just had another awesome Saturday playing cashflow 101 and 202!
Yet again, 202 was another butt-kicker for everyone who attempted to play.
I want to congratulate both Dave Sullivan and Rob Solis who played 202 and 101 respectively and were able to be out of the rat race in under a half hour!
What is more impressive is that these two also played with their own personal balance sheets!
The point of the exercise of playing with your own personal balance sheets is that you get your mind thinking about what you need to do personally to get out of the rat race.
It goes to show if you invest your time and your money in making good decisions you can get out of the rat race quickly.
I wanted to write this post about investing time and money because I heard something this past sunday from one of my mentors. He said that investing means that EXPECT a return later. Obviously everyone "knows" about investing your money.
Invest in this you get some percent return, blah blah blah.
What was huge was that he said by investing your time into yourself (ie your own personal growth) and your business, whatever that may be, you are investing to get a return on more time in your life to do whatever you want!
People often want the quick dollar (like those who live for the lottery). The ones who are lucky enough to get that quick dollar spend it just as fast as they got it!
The point is people don't see the value in investing their time into their personal growth. I'm here to tell you that REAL ENTREPRENEURS do!!!
If you have an opportunity to go to a seminar on personal growth or financial success (free or not) I suggest you make it a point to go! Again you're investing your time and money into your financial future!!
I love playing Cashflow with you, however you need to make the decision to go from playing the game to applying what you learn into your life!
If you know me personally, you know I get excited when I talk about business! Robert Kiyosaki has always stated the best way to secure your time and wealth is through owning a business.
I wanted to share a few stories of some people I know who just started their journey in entrepreneurship. I want to let you know if these guys can do something great, you can too!
Joey, a close friend of mine, started a web consulting business called Gorirra.com. He mainly wants to specialize in restaurants but has done websites for other things like weddings and personal sites. He started this business is because building web sites has been his "passion". You can tell he loves to get creative.
His business is in the early stages, but at least he started and that's usually the biggest hurdle when it come to people starting their own business. They just don't start! He's already worked with numerous clients and more are on the way.
I wish I could tell you he's making millions, but he's working hard to get the business to where he wants it.
I also want to tell you about my cousin Bianca, who started a tutoring business in San Diego called Ace Tutoring. She started this business not long ago also. Her passion is to help people overcome their hurdles in school. In fact, here's a real testimonial someone left on yahoo about her business!
A person you all know is my wife Jenn. With her cousin Stephanie, they started an invitation business called Inspired Invitations. They've made some of the most cost effective wedding invitations for people around San Diego. They started this business with 40 bucks and are currently using their profits to re-invest into their business! Did I mention they started it with only $40!
As you can see all it takes is a passion and you can start a business in anything! From building websites like Joey or just tutoring students like Bianca, anything is possible! You just have to get started!
Like Larry Winget says, "Your Success is your own damn fault!"
As for me, my passion is to empower people to go after their dreams through business! This is why I got involved in Network Marketing and also why I created this Cashflow club. My Networking business is doing well. We just continue to grow because of the leaders I have in my business. I can go on for days about some of the guys in my business and tell you about their passions. That'll just have to wait.
I love meeting people who are excited about where their life is going and I love helping them in anyway I can. To me there's nothing more refreshing than talking with a dreamer.
So if there is any way I can help you just let me know. If it's helping you get started or if you're just tired of hearing all the negative people around you, just let me know.
Find your passion! Now get to work!
To your succcess!
Last weekend we had an awesome discussion! I asked everyone that was there how playing the game has influenced their life and what they are doing now.
The responses I got were tremendous. I hope that everyone realizes that there are some people in the club that are going places!
Andy brought up how playing the game has changed his mindset in how he thinks about money. It's about shifting from an employee mentality to an entrepreneur mentality. You understand that your life destiny is in your hands, and not at the mercy of some corporate pension.
My good friend Rob is helping his parents manage their money as they enter retirement through his business. He says that he never would have had that opportunity if it wasn't for playing CASHFLOW where money management is key!
What's interesting is that one of the youngest members of our group (age 13), Ashley reminded all of us to "live it up"! Where I think she was coming from was to not get so caught up in your finances, but to have fun.
It's funny because some of the leaders in my Network Marketing organization are young at heart and I think about how they are able to "live it up" because of the wealth of time and money they've been able to create.
The game is is far more than just a silly board game. The people in the club who believe in what the game teaches and believe in themselves are going after goals that in my opinion are far bigger than themselves!
If you want to be around people who are going places then don't miss our next game on March 1st. As the saying goes "birds of a feather flock together." Don't be left out!
I was listening to a CD by Robert Kiyosaki and Dr. Dolf De Roos. Robert asked if Dolf can sum up what it takes to become successful. This is what he said:
"It takes courage. Courage is not acting without fear. It's acting despite your fear."
Whatever it takes!
I recieved this from John Maxwell. He is in my mind the authority on leadership. He describes lessons from the richest man of all!!
Enjoy!!!

LESSONS FROM THE RICHEST MAN WHO EVER LIVED
By Dr. John C. Maxwell
Bill Gates is worth $56 billion. Warren Buffet commands $52 billion. Yet, if accounts of the ancient king Solomon are accurate, his riches would have dwarfed the wealth of today’s richest men, topping the modern-day equivalent of $1 trillion, or $1,000 billion! In The Richest Man Who Ever Lived, author Steven K. Scott looks into the writings King Solomon to find lessons from history’s wealthiest man. Scott’s observations form the basis for this lesson of Leadership Wired.
King Solomon ascended to the throne of Israel around 974 B.C. when he was only twelve years old. According to the Old Testament, God appeared to Solomon and offered to grant him one desire. Solomon, concerned about his inexperience and ability to rule, asked for wisdom so that he could judiciously lead the people of Israel. God was so impressed with Solomon’s selfless request that He decided to bless him, not only with wisdom, but also with wealth. God promised to bestow upon Solomon greater riches and honor than any king before him or any king that would come after him.
What was promised was delivered. Solomon’s wisdom, success, and wealth increased beyond imagination. His gold reserves, holdings of land and livestock, and royal palace were immense. Rulers of nations throughout the world sought his sage advice. During his life, Solomon penned the book of Proverbs in the Bible. Surviving from generation to generation, his writings have influenced the world for thousands of years.
In last edition of Leadership Wired, we examined the life of Ben Franklin for instruction about diligence. In this lesson, we’ll cover similar territory by studying the King Solomon’s writings on diligence as portrayed by author Stuart Scott.
The Consequences of Not Being Diligent
1. You Will Be Ruled.
“The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slack hand will be put to forced labor” (Proverbs 12:24).
No one likes living life out of control, and we despise being ordered around by others. Yet, if we’re lazy, our labor will be dictated by the demands of someone else. This principle can be seen most clearly in the financial realm. Laziness with finances leads to debt, and when we’re in debt we don’t rule our money. Instead of enjoying our discretionary income, we are forced to use it to repay debts.
2. You Will Crave But Find Little Fulfillment.
“The soul of the sluggard craves, but he gets nothing.” (Proverbs 13:4)
Sadly, for those who lack diligence, their lives are defined by desire rather than fulfillment. Absent of the discipline to lead the life of their dreams, they are left with empty wishes.
3. You Will Lack Understanding.
“He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread, but he that follows vain persons is void of understanding” (Proverbs 28:19).
Today, television channels are filled with people who guarantee wealth without work. They promise you can buy real estate with no money down, make thousands of dollars in stock trading without a penny of savings, etc. Solomon cautions that those who chase after quick-buck artists and their get-rich-quick schemes demonstrate only their ignorance. Individuals who work heartily reap the bounty of their effort. Those who try to cheat the system to gain wealth find themselves as the ones being taken advantage of.
Steps to Bring Diligence into Your Life
Being truly diligent takes time and requires making a habit of applying diligence daily in the important areas of life. However, you don’t have to wait years to start employing diligence in your endeavors. Solomon gives us three steps we can use quickly to bring diligence into our careers, our marriages, or our parenting.
1. Wake Up to Reality.
“How long will you lie there,” he asks. “When will you get up from your sleep?...poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.” (Proverbs 6:9-11)
We think that we have more time than we actually do to achieve our personal and professional goals. Thus, we procrastinate doing what we know we should do. Days of inaction add together into unproductive weeks. Weeks of idleness accumulate as meaningless months. Months and months of lethargy turn into wasted years, and wasted years are the fruitless products of a life filled with regret and sorrow.
Life has more to offer than evenings mindlessly surfing the internet or reclining on the couch watching ESPN or E!. Make each day your masterpiece. Give your dreams a shot by taking steps to lead the life you imagine.
2. Define Your Vision.
“Without a vision, the people perish.” (Proverbs 29:18)
When we have no vision, we lose our direction, our motivation, our joy, our passion, our energy, our creativity, and our commitment. Fortunately, the converse of this proverb is also true. Whenever you introduce a true vision into any area of your life, you gain new energy. Visions spark action and fuel initiative.
3. Effectively Partner With Others.
“A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment.”(Proverbs 18:1)
In today’s interconnected world, the upper echelon of leadership has no room for lone rangers. Wise leaders diligently develop a team of talented performers and a network of friends and partners. In doing so, they become rich in social capital. As I wrote in The 17 Laws of Teamwork, “One is too small a number to achieve greatness.”
